Global Hires Seven Dials

Global Radio, owner of Britain's most successful commercial radio stations, has today appointed Seven Dials to handle its corporate and consumer public relations.

Seven Dials, described by PR Week as “the highest profile PR agency launch this year” is headed up by Simon Kelner, former editor-in-chief of The Independent, and he said the partnership with Global was “a landmark win” for the new agency. Ashley Tabor, the founder and executive president of Global, said: “We are excited about working with Seven Dials, who have an energy and freshness that matches our own spirit.”

Seven Dials will handle all corporate communications for Global Radio, as well as public relations for its individual stations alongside Global’s in house team.

Stephen Miron, group CEO of Global, said: “As a business that is growing and developing every year, we are keen to tell the Global story to a bigger audience.  We were looking for an agency partner that speaks the same language as us and we found that in Seven Dials.”

Kelner said: “With successful and popular radio stations up and down the country, it’s hard to believe Global is only six years old.  Every day, Global’s stations produce high-quality content, and our job is to maximise the impact and reach of this content, further cementing the bond between listener and station. We are excited by the challenge that Global presents.”

Home to some of the country’s most-loved stations – Capital FM, Heart, Classic FM, LBC, Xfm, Choice FM and Gold – Global achieved a record high in the latest RAJARs, pulling in 20.2 million listeners every week.

Capital now has 7.3 million listeners every week and plays host to London’s most popular breakfast show, and LBC has topped one million weekly listeners for the first time.

LBC has attracted attention recently with new ‘appointment-to-listen’ radio shows Ask Boris, co-hosted by Boris Johnson and Nick Ferrari, and Nick Clegg’s Call Clegg, which has set the national political agenda.

As well as its radio stations and TV channels, Global has a talent and publishing division representing acts including Ellie Goulding, The Wanted, Lawson and Corinne Bailey Rae.
